child play therapyPlay is how children communicate. Through play therapy your child will play learn how to communicate their needs and cope with their feelings. Play therapy sessions will be a combination of working systematically with parents and engaging in play therapy with your child. In play therapy, I will be joining your child in their world through play. I use a myriad of different non-directive and directive play interventions including: bibliotherapy, sand tray and Theraplay.

adolescents (13+)Adolescents are at a pivotal point in their life. They are learning about themselves and who they want to be. Teens are often faced with difficult life choices; therapy is a safe and nonjudgmental environment for teens to process their feelings and choices. Content of the session is kept confidential with the exception of safety issues. Dr. Shayna will thoroughly go over adolescent confidentiality during the intake with both parents and teens.
