Congratulations! We survived a month of staying home! That means you have officially been parent, teacher, and activities coordinator for your kids 24/7! Give your self a pat on the back and pour yourself a glass of wine. You did it! You survived and I am proud of you!!!
Are you running out of ideas to keep them busy? Are you kids asking more questions about why they have to stay home for so long?
While some of us have been pulling our hair having these multiple roles, there are angels in this world that come up with awesome ideas to keep kids busy and educate them on this pandemic. Take for instance, Natalie Long, from Long creations, created a series of worksheets for kids to color and complete. My favorite part of it, is that they have incorporate emotions into their workbooks! Feel free to download her pdf and spread the love. This is a great activity that you can do as a family.
Ana Gomez, a therapist from South America, created a beautiful story about the Oyster and Butterfly. In her book, she explains typical emotions one may feel regarding the Corona Virus and what we can do to cope with our feelings. While most of the pages are informative, there are a few pages, where she leaves spaces to fill in. Below is the free pdf file if you'd like to download her book. Other therapists, have also narrated her book on youtube.
Mahalo Natalie Long and Ana Gomez for you innovative ways to connect with others, promote emotional intelligence and create activities that are age appropriate for your kids.
